Frequently Asked Questions
How do you operate?
We are currently based @ Doolin Harbour for the summer of 2024 and have previously operated our seaweed baths on a mobile basis between locations in West Cork, Kerry, Clare and Galway Bay.
Where are your locations?
Locations to date have included Snave Pier Ballylickey Bantry Bay, Rocky Bay (near Kinsale and Carrigaline), Ceann Trá or Ventry Pier on the Dingle, Clahane at Liscannor Bay in Co. Clare, and Céibh an Lochán near Kinvara in South Galway Bay.
How can I book in for a bath?
Please reserve a seaweed bath via the Book Online section of our website.
What do I bring? Please bring swimming togs, towel and drinking water. Please do not bring glass or alcohol.
Cancellation Policy. Please note once a booking has been paid for, if you wish to cancel, the first and preferred option is for the purchaser of the booking to send a family member or friend instead and if doing this, to please email us letting us know of the name change for the person who will be arriving for the booking instead. If the aforementioned is not an option, please email us letting us know that you wish to cancel your slot where we will re advertise your slot, where if rebooked, we will refund you subject to a minimum admin fee of €10 or €5 per barrel cancelled.
Please note, we reserve the right to cancel and fully refund any booking under very rare circumstances that may arise. No compensation other then a refund of the original booking will be available under such circumstances.
Gift Vouchers
Update: On an annual basis during November and December we offer our evouchers for use in conjunction with our seaweed baths.
Special Notice. Vouchers purchased from 2024 onwards are only valid at our Doolin Pier Location for the Wild Atlantic Seaweed Baths Experience. Under no circumstances can vouchers be used for our recently launched Seafoam Sauna. All vouchers purchased during 2024 must be used before end of 2025. Please note, vouchers are only being offered for purchase until 20th December 2024.
As our operating practice has changed from a mobile basis to a permanent basis during 2024 and whilst being cognisant that there are still unredeemed vouchers in circulation, we are planning to run two mobile trips after Xmas 2024 and into Jan 2025. These trips will consist of operating our seaweed baths at Bantry Bay after Christmas for 2 weekends and in Ceann Trá or Ventry in Co. Kerry in January 2025 hopefully. For those with vouchers they wish to use, we would strongly encourage the use of such vouchers (Either by the voucher owners, their family or friends) at these aformentioned trips otherwise the only place to use any outstanding vouchers will be at Doolin in 2025 where we plan to operate our seaweed baths on a weekly basis. No refunds will be offered for vouchers not used at these above dates and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you have a Wild Atlantic Seaweed Baths gift voucher you’re looking to redeem when booking in, you can use the 7 digit code at the payment stage to complete your booking. Unfortunately if your voucher was purchased before Christmas 2019, your voucher will likely only have a 3 or 4 digit code which is not compatible with our online booking system. If you have one of our older type vouchers, please book in using a credit card and then bring your voucher on the day and will refund your bank card. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
How much does it cost?
Cost is €50.00 per barrel per hour or €70.00 if two or more adults are using the same barrel. Children under age of 16 are free if using the bath with a parent or guardian but must be supervised at all times.
How can I book a group in for a future date?
The options are to either book in when we announce a location or to privately hire us (see below). Additionally, if you are looking to book more then 4 baths at one time, please book the additional baths that have a starting time within half an hour of the first 4 baths you have booked and so on.
Photography
We love to see people getting photos of themselves but as a courtesy to other users of the seaweed baths, we kindly request patrons of our seaweed baths to respect other people’s privacy by not including other visitors in their pictures. However, it is not fully within our control to prevent people passing by from taking pictures and so we cannot guarantee people will not be photographed. As is our own policy on a rare time when we’d like to photograph the barrels, if people are in them, we will ask them for their consent under such circumstances which is entirely voluntary. Thank you for your consideration and respect of other people’s privacy in advance.
Can I use the bath if I’m pregnant?
Only if you’ve consulted your GP.
Before Contacting us, Please read our faq where most queries are dealt with there. We make this request with utmost respect and sincere gratitude for your interest in our seaweed baths and look forward to seeing you soon. Thank you.
And finally… thanks to everyone for all the help in getting Wild Atlantic Seaweed Baths up and running, to all the amazing communities who continue to give us such a warm welcome when we visit and to everyone who either visits the baths or tells others via word of mouth or online how amazing our baths are… We are so grateful.
